Active Cooling for GoodWe ET Plus+ Inverters – Without Thermostat

This active cooling kit is designed for GoodWe ET Plus+ solar inverters and selected AEG hybrid inverters. It improves airflow through the inverter's cooling fins and helps reduce operating temperatures under load by approximately 15–30°C, depending on installation and operating conditions.

This 24V DC version does not include a thermostat or automatic temperature control. It is intended for customers who want to control the cooling fans using their own automation, smart socket, timer or external switching system.

How Does Cooling Without a Thermostat Work?

The cooling fans do not switch on automatically according to the inverter's temperature. They run when the power supply is switched on and stop when the power supply is switched off.

Possible control options include:

• Smart socket with automation: Switch the cooling system according to inverter temperature, provided your automation system can monitor it.
• Timer: Schedule cooling during the day and switch it off at night.
• Manual control: Turn the cooling fans on or off by controlling their power supply.

Installation requirement: At least 12 cm of free space is required below the inverter's cooling fins.

The package includes a 24V DC / 1.2A power adapter with a 2-metre power cable.

Optional 1.5 m and 4 m extension cables are available separately if additional cable length is required.

Benefits of Active Solar Inverter Cooling

The cooling unit directs air towards the inverter from below, helping dissipate heat through its cooling fins.

Under load, active cooling can reduce inverter operating temperatures by approximately 15–30°C, depending on installation conditions.

Lower operating temperatures may help reduce thermal power derating during hot weather and decrease thermal stress on the inverter's electronic components.

Important: This version has no integrated thermostat. The fans operate whenever power is supplied and stop when power is disconnected. External switching must be arranged by the user.

Easy Installation Without Inverter Modifications

Slide the cooling unit underneath the inverter and fit it onto the lower ends of the cooling fins.

Use the locking screws on the sides of the frame to secure the cooling unit in position.

Connect the included 24V DC power supply and arrange the external switching method that best suits your installation.

To remove the cooling unit, follow the installation steps in reverse order.
